Are You Sitting Continuously?

You have huge pressure in your office? Do not have a second to stand up and have some movement? Researchers have identified some Not-So-Good-News for you. Those people who are sitting for a long time become more exposed to the risk of Venus Thromboemboligm- the disease of coagulate of blood.

Medical Institute of New Zealand's researchers mention that the risk of coagulate of blood in the vain is much higher for them who sit for as long time and have no opportunity to movement during the work-time. They observed from their research that those people who need to work for at least eight hours a day and among those eight hours work, they are sitting for three consecutive hours, are more fragile to the risk of Venus Thromboemboligm. They basically 2 times more exposed than the normal people who can work with some movement to the risk.

The Head of Research Team, Professor Richard Bisely told, to reduce the risk of this dangerous disease, people need to become more physically active. The researchers also identified some ways to active the body during their busy work schedule without hampering their works. These advises are like:

  • Stand up in each hour and walk a bit around your desk.
  • Use staircase when you are going up or down floors instead of using elevators.
  • If you need to tell something to your colleague who sit  in a distance, do not send them sms or emails. Rather go near to them and tell them what you want to tell them.
  • When you are sitting, try to fold-unfold your hands and legs continuously.
