GLUCOMA: Nerve Disease of Eyes For High Blood Pressure

What Is GLUCOMA?

This is an eye disease, where the pressure of eye started to increase . And in this process, the nerve of the eyes which are located behind the eyes become dis-functional at later stage the eyes loose their visioning power. GLUCOMA is one of the main reason for having permanent blindness.

Who Have GLUCOMA?

This disease can be happened in any time of life. If any child born with large eye and high eye pressure, then such incident is known as Congenital GLUCOMA. This can be also happened in the youth which is known as Guvenial GLUCOMA. But the majority of GLUCOMA happened after the age of 4 years which is known as Primary GLUCOMA.

Other than these, those who have this disease in their family, who wear spectacles with minus power, who have diabetes and high blood pressure are more exposed to the risk of GLUCOMA.

Reasons for GLUCOMA

  • The change in eye shape in the later stage.
  • By born fault in structure.
  • Reddish color in eyes.
  • Amnesia in eyes due to diabetes.
  • Uncontrolled steroid or hormone therapy.

Symptoms of GLUCOMA

  • Sudden pain in one eye and for this reason the patient experiencing poor visibility.
  • Severe headache and vomiting tendency.
  • All time have mild pain in eyes and head. (especially in the shortage of light)
  • Slowly the visibility of eyes started to decline.
  • Sometime the patient started to loose his vision capability with out any pain.
  • By born large size of eyes, falling water from eyes.

Identification Of GLUCOMA

Through investigating patients' history and different examination, it is possible to determine the disease. Among the test most prominent tests are- Visual Examination, Visual Field Test, Examining Eye Pressure, Examining Gunious Copy and the test  of Ofthalmiouscopy.

Prevention From GLUCOMA

  • Those who have patients of this disease in their family need to have regular consultation with eye-specialists.
  • Need to take physician's advice if he has the pain in his eye and head due to shortage of light.
  • Do operation in case of cataract.
  • Take treatment at the very beginning of having pain in eyes.
  • Never do late in case of having any injury in eyes.
  • Those who take steroid or hormone therapy need to check their eye condition with in the interval of 3-4 months.
  • Do operation of cataract in hospitals which have all modern facility.
  • Lastly by changing the lifestyle, people can reduce the risk of GLUCOMA. People can do:

                    ------- Control their diet.

                    ------- Avoid Foods with salt.

                    ------- Reducing diabetes.

                    ------- Controlling high blood pressure.

Treatment for GLUCOMA

The GLUCOMA can be controlled by taking medicine as per physician's advice. With the help of medicine, the eye pressure can be controlled. But, if the pressure is so high then the patient may need more than medicine. Moreover, their is treatment guideline for GLUCOMA treatment. Through surgery, the patient can remove the disease.

Now a days, the treatment for GLUCOMA can be done by laser therapy. But the main reason for such treatment should be to have recovery from GLUCOMA as this disease has very close interlink with other nerve diseases.
